Play Bridge & Help Others

Volunteers Needed

Charitable Donations by FFBC:

At this time of year, FFBC supports charities that make a big difference to children in the Boston area.

FFBC has kick-started the 2 charities with checks for $ 400 each.  You can help.

Make out your check payable to the charity that you prefer and you will retain any possible tax deduction for 2020.

The Waltham Boys & Girls Club, which many of you are familiar with from our prior support to them. Without financial support from the City of Waltham, they provide meals to children during the summer and other school vacations.  “Our food program provides a free meal to any youth 18 years or younger year round. The program is open to any youth in the community regardless of their membership. During the summer months, the Club prepares and distributes free healthy lunches throughout many sites around Waltham. This summer all meals are Grab & Go to be taken with you- please no congregating at the Food Site. Caregivers may pick up meals for their children. Fun Giveaways and Raffles will be announced throughout the summer! During the school year, the Club serves a hot dinner every weekday from 4-6pm. Any youth 18 years or younger is welcome to a free and nutritious meal!”

REACH, which provides safety and support to survivors of abuse, and works to end domestic violence.  Here is more info from Muggsie Rocco, who retired from there: "REACH runs a wonderful holiday gift program for domestic violence survivors, providing gifts for over 200 local families. I've seen firsthand what a huge difference the program makes. Many parents would not have been able to give their kids even one gift, if not for the generosity of people supporting this program. Because of COVID-19, Reach has made the decision to change certain aspects of the REACH Holiday Gift Program and focus the program solely on donations of Target gift cards.  We are hoping to provide $100 worth of Target gift cards for each person we are working with.  Donors can make a donation through our website for the Holiday Gift Program and we will purchase the gift cards on your behalf. (Please note, Reach is not able to accept e-gift cards).”  To donate, go to https://reachma.salsalabs.org/donatetoreach/index.html and choose “Holiday Gift Program” under “I want my gift to go towards:”.  You can also choose “In Honor of” --“FFBC Bridge Club”.  If you want more information, you can contact Muggsie ( <mugsroc@comcast.net> )
